Business Card Blues
I'll admit it.

I am a card snob.

I am very picky about business cards. They are your business' first impression on a potential customer. They can make the difference between attracting a big-dollar customer with impeccable taste, or they can make that potentially good customer keep looking for someone else.

My biggest pet peeve is those "print them yourself" cards. I know a business that has used these things for three years, thinking they were saving money. Well, actually, ink isn't so cheap (my cartridges are $20 - $40 each), and a package of 100 business cards costs $5. Assuming they go through 100 cards a month (they send them out regularly, with directions to their store), and a cartridge of ink every three months, how much are these cards really costing?

If you had a choice between a stonemason with a nice, slick card with a photo of his work on it, and an obviously cheap card, and you really cared about quality, who would you hire to make your stone pathway? It doesn't matter if the guy with the less-than-great cards is actually better, if you only had that card to go by, you'd probably go by the one with the quality card.

So there you have it. I'm a card snob. Now you know why. Anytime I am asked to design a new business card for someone, I give it the best shot I have - because I want you to look GOOD.
